Up to 500 French High Schools to Close Monday Due to Student Protests

The French Education Minister announced that up to 500 high schools will be partially or fully closed Monday across France due to ongoing student protests.

These protests focus on teacher shortages, dilapidated school buildings, and overcrowded classrooms. Since the demonstrations began, 24 high schools have been vandalized or set on fire, according to authorities.

Classes will therefore be suspended in these institutions for safety and organizational reasons.
