The African Democratic Rally (RDA) is celebrating its 80th anniversary since the founding congress held in Bamako from October 18 to 21, 1946, which marked the birth of the first major pan-African and anti-colonial political movement, reports RFI.
In Guinea, a delegation of political leaders participated in this congress. Shortly thereafter, they founded the Guinean section of the RDA, the Democratic Party of Guinea (PDG), which distinguished itself by its radical stance in the struggle for the country’s independence, achieved in 1958.
Mamadou Traoré, known as Ray Autra, son of one of the key figures of this period, recounts this significant history that shaped Guinea’s political trajectory.
