On the morning of September 29, 2026, several loud explosions echoed through the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, as air defenses were activated during a ballistic missile alert, according to RFI.
The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned that “new ballistic missiles” were heading toward the city. Journalists on site described a combined attack involving drones and missiles.
This new offensive comes a day after a Russian drone strike on the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, which resulted in at least one death and six injuries.
