The Ethiopian federal army continues to advance in the Tigray region. After regaining control of the town of Alamata on September 28, government troops are now positioned further north.
A group close to federal authorities reported that these forces are engaging fighters from the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) in Korem, a locality approximately 100 kilometers south of Mekele, the regional capital, on September 30.
