European Union leaders convened in Brussels on Thursday for a two-day summit focused on discussing the bloc’s upcoming long-term budget, continued support for Ukraine, as well as measures to enhance Europe’s economic competitiveness in the face of rising energy prices and geopolitical uncertainty.
They expressed strong opposition to a new proposal concerning the long-term budget, raising serious doubts about the possibility of reaching an agreement on this key spending plan by the end of the year, reports France 24.
