Extremist Settlers Prevent Palestinian Family’s Return in West Bank; Israel Condemns Attack

B-Empire Magazine

On Tuesday, September 29, more than 100 Israeli settlers attacked a village in the northern West Bank to prevent the return of a Palestinian family that had been forced to leave the area two months earlier.

The attack led to clashes during which three Israeli police officers were injured.

In a rare move, Israel’s top leaders, Benjamin Netanyahu and Isaac Herzog, condemned the attack, as settler violence continues to escalate in the region.

According to RFI, the most extremist settlers often act with the protection of the Israeli army. Colonization is also accelerating ahead of the legislative elections scheduled for October 27.

Israeli courts have ordered a one-month postponement of the deadline for bids on a large colonization project in the West Bank, to avoid disrupting the election campaign.
