Following the Ceuta Crisis, France Increases Border Controls

On July 30, 2026, more than 70,000 people illegally entered the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, located in northern Africa, at the border with Morocco. This event resonated across Europe.

In response, the French Interior Minister announced the deployment of reinforcements to strengthen controls at French borders. Two months after these announcements, the increase in border controls is clearly visible, reports RFI.
