Seven women were arrested in early October in Ghana for making “money bouquets,” gifts crafted from real banknotes intended for sale at weddings, birthdays, and other ceremonies, reports France 24.
Although these bouquets have become a festive trend in the country, they are considered in several African states as a violation of monetary sovereignty, which explains the controversy and the arrests.
