Glucksmann Leads Non-Mélenchonist Left Primary with 66% of the Vote

Raphaël Glucksmann won 66% of the vote in the first round of the non-Mélenchonist left primary, France 24 announced on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

With six months remaining before the presidential election, this result gives him a favorable position, but the challenge remains significant: he must now unite his camp and convince voters beyond his electorate, in a left-wing political landscape that remains divided.

Charlotte Tomaka, a political journalist at RFI who has been following Glucksmann’s campaign from the start, analyzes the challenges he faces in bringing together the various factions of the non-Mélenchonist left.
