On September 28, at the closing of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Burma was not officially represented due to the civil war triggered by the 2021 military coup and the UN’s refusal to recognize the ruling junta.
However, Kyaw Moe Tun, Burma’s representative to the United Nations, remains present. He has taken a stance of resistance alongside Burmese authorities opposing the military junta.
