National Rally candidate Marine Le Pen stated on Wednesday, October 14, that she would “maintain financial aid to Ukraine for six months” if elected president in 2027, but beyond that period, she would “cease” this support, reports France 24.
When asked about this stance, Frédéric Mauro, an associate researcher at IRIS and specialist in European defense issues, emphasized that French aid represents 0.3% of GDP. He warned that “wanting to stop French aid to Ukraine is opening the door to Russian war objectives.”
