B-Empire Magazine

NASA has announced that the SpaceX Crew-13 mission will launch no earlier than October 1, 2026, at 11:10 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Four crew members will board the Dragon spacecraft named Grace, which previously flew in 2025 during the private Axiom Mission 4.

The crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins (commander) and Luke Delaney (pilot), Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Russian cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov from Roscosmos. They are all assigned to join Expedition 75 aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

During this long-duration mission, the astronauts will conduct scientific experiments aimed at advancing medical research, including studies on heart disease and Parkinson’s disease using tissues derived from human stem cells. They will also explore agricultural production in space, investigate blood flow anomalies observed in orbit, and test new medical equipment for monitoring crew health.

This mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, with SpaceX providing transportation to the ISS. The Falcon 9 launcher used for Crew-13 will be making its third flight. The current Crew-12 team is preparing to return to Earth, with a brief overlap planned during Crew-13’s arrival.
