Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori has warned about the intensification of the El Niño climate phenomenon, describing the situation as “truly dramatic” for her country.
She has called on residents in high-risk areas to evacuate in the face of the threat posed by this phenomenon, which causes a rise in sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean and disrupts global wind and precipitation patterns.
El Niño is responsible for major natural disasters, including massive forest fires in Indonesia and worsened drought in Madagascar, emphasized Keiko Fujimori, highlighting the exceptional scale of this episode.
