B-Empire Magazine

A French police officer was charged Tuesday for violence after firing a tear gas grenade at close range at a 14-year-old high school student during protests shaking the country, reports France 24.

Fanny Gallois, head of the Freedoms program at Amnesty International, expressed concern over these cases of serious injuries linked to the use of so-called less-lethal weapons, commonly used in France. She emphasized that these weapons and the injuries they cause are particularly troubling for a country like France and recalled that their ban has been demanded for several years.
