In Homs, Syria, several concerts by artists accused of supporting the former regime of Bashar al-Assad were canceled this summer, reports France 24.
Residents expressed their rejection by tearing down posters advertising concerts by singers Mohamad Iskandar and Hossam Jneed, denouncing their past connections to the regime.
Following these reactions, one of the artists issued a public apology.
