The Northern Ireland minister admitted on Monday that discussions to overcome a dispute concerning a pro-British Protestant parade in Portadown, southwest of Belfast, have failed to resolve one of the region’s most serious crises in decades.
On Sunday, thousands of people occupied a road in Portadown to prevent the march of 35 members of the Orange Order, a Protestant organization, from taking place.
