SEC to Discuss Machine-Readable Data and Superintelligence Risks in November

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on October 19, 2026, that it will hold a roundtable on November 9, 2026, to address the use of machine-readable data and superintelligence (SI), as well as the associated risks and costs.

Joshua White, Chief Economist and Director of the SEC’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, emphasized the importance of high-quality information in the era of SI. This roundtable aims to facilitate in-depth discussions on the public use of machine data and SI, along with the resulting risks.

Feedback from market participants will help SEC staff better understand how machine data is leveraged for SI solutions and adjust the Commission’s actions accordingly.

The event will take place at the SEC headquarters in Washington D.C., from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST. In-person attendance will be limited and subject to security screening. The discussion will be streamed live on the SEC website, with a recording available afterward.
