The suburbs of Johannesburg have witnessed the discovery of ten women’s bodies over the past two months, including one found last Sunday, stirring strong emotions in South Africa.
These femicides, among the highest in the world, have reignited anger among rights defenders who denounce the failures of public policies in addressing this scourge.
The South African president himself described the situation as a “national disaster,” emphasizing the urgent need to act against this deadly violence.
