Over 1,200 High Schools Affected by Student Protests in France

In France, a student protest movement shows no signs of abating, with demonstrations affecting more than 1,200 high schools across the country.

According to France 24, over 5,000 people have been arrested, the majority being minors. The students are denouncing chronic underfunding of public schools, worsened by accusations of an inequitable distribution of resources that historically favors wealthier, predominantly white neighborhoods.
