On the morning of Sunday, September 20, Moscow and its surrounding region were targeted by a massive attack involving hundreds of Ukrainian drones, according to Russian authorities reported by RFI.
This offensive caused the deaths of at least two people and damaged a major refinery in the area.
The attack occurred on the last day of the Russian legislative elections, which aim to renew the 450 seats of the lower house of Parliament, the State Duma.
This is the first election held since the Kremlin ordered the large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
