UNESCO Warns of Growing State Dependence on Consulting Firms

B-Empire Magazine

The UNESCO has published a new report aimed at limiting governments’ dependence on consulting firms, a phenomenon that is rapidly growing worldwide.

This dependence, which can lead to high costs and raise transparency concerns, was particularly criticized in France a few years ago, notably regarding the close ties between the Macron government and the American firm McKinsey.

UNESCO’s Inclusive Policy Lab, led by Iulia Sevciuc, has thus established an action plan to address this issue and encourage better management of relationships between states and private consultants.
