The US Department of Justice opened an investigation on Friday, October 9, into the country’s five major television networks: ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Fox News, according to the New York Times on Saturday, October 10.
This decision follows their boycott of joint coverage of Donald Trump for several days in September. The boycott occurred after Donald Trump banned CNN and two other media outlets from access to the White House, accusing them of spreading “false information.”
