Valdemar Osted, partner and technology lead at the Danish firm Common Consultancy, has challenged widely circulated claims that attacks on Russian data centers caused a sudden collapse in online engagement among supporters of Donald Trump and the far-right German party Alternative for Germany (AfD).
Drawing on social media monitoring and research into inauthentic behaviors, Osted reports that he did not observe any unusual decline in Facebook interactions following these attacks.
