Max Verstappen won the 2026 Singapore Sprint at the Marina Bay street circuit under mixed weather conditions, the official Formula 1 report announced.
Following a rain shower before the race, the track was wet in the first and third sectors and only damp in the middle. All drivers opted for intermediate tires.
George Russell made an excellent start, overtaking Verstappen, but lost all advantage after a heavy off-track excursion at the final corner on the first lap.
Verstappen regained the lead and managed his intermediate tires effectively as the track gradually dried, extending his gap over the Ferraris and the McLarens behind him.
Lewis Hamilton led the charge among the Ferraris, overtaking Charles Leclerc and the McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who collided in the closing laps. Norris spun Piastri at turn 5, benefiting Kimi Antonelli, who finished fourth.
Several drivers did not finish the race, including Alex Albon, Gabriel Bortoleto, Valtteri Bottas, Isack Hadjar, Franco Colapinto, Sergio Perez, and Lance Stroll, due to various collisions and off-track incidents.
