Sébastien Lecornu announced on Monday, October 19, the implementation of targeted curfews in France in response to the violence that shook the country over the weekend.
These measures aim notably to protect businesses, with approximately 3,000 of them having been vandalized during the unrest. Law enforcement authorities have made nearly 2,400 arrests.
The cost to restore the situation is estimated at several hundred million euros, which will need to be spent to compensate merchants and repair the damage.
