Ukraine has accused the United States of restricting its access to Starlink satellite technology from SpaceX, which is used to control aerial drones, a key component of its military strategy against Russia, RFI reported on October 15, 2026.
According to Elon Musk, the slowdown of the military Starshield network is not caused by SpaceX but by the US government. This restriction significantly complicates Ukraine’s ability to maintain its drone operations.
Kiev also acknowledges that Europe is unable to provide an alternative to the American satellite systems, leaving Ukraine dependent on Washington for this strategic technology.
