When most people think of Fashion Week, they think New York, Milan, Paris, London. They should also think Orlando. The Mall at Millenia’s annual Fashion Week has established itself, over eight years of careful curation, as one of the most dynamic regional fashion events in the United States — a place where emerging designers get real runway time and real retail attention.
This Season’s Key Trends
The fall/winter preview was dominated by several clear directions: voluminous outerwear in deep jewel tones (emerald, sapphire, burgundy), a resurgence of structured tailoring that borrows from menswear tradition while remaining entirely feminine, and — perhaps most surprisingly — a return of sheer fabrics layered over opaque foundations.
The accessories story was equally compelling. Oversized bags in unexpected textures (boucle, velvet, washed leather) competed with sculptural jewelry that treated the necklace as centerpiece rather than accessory. Boots, it must be said, are having a moment: knee-high, block-heeled, and entirely serious.
« Fashion Week in Orlando isn’t about mimicking the capitals. It’s about translating global trends for real lives, real climates, real wardrobes. »
— Event Director, Mall at Millenia Fashion Week
