Photographing Without Missing the Experience

A recent smartphone can capture the brightest meteors if it has a stable night mode, but a camera on a tripod remains more effective. It is advisable to use a wide-angle lens, manual focus on infinity, and exposures of several seconds. Continuous shooting increases the chances of capturing a trail. The device should aim at a wide area away from light pollution.

However, the trap would be to spend the entire night behind a screen. The Perseids are primarily a panoramic spectacle, better perceived by the human eye than in the narrow frame of a photograph. The simplest advice remains the best: choose a safe spot, wait in the dark, and let the sky surprise you.
