Aage Niels Bohr, born on June 19, 1922, in Copenhagen, Denmark, was a Danish physicist known for his contributions to the understanding of atomic nucleus structure. The son of the famous physicist Niels Bohr, he pursued research on collective motion and particle motion in atomic nuclei. In 1975, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his fundamental discoveries in this field. Bohr passed away on September 8, 2009.
