Gabriel Lippmann, born on August 16, 1845, in Hollerich, Luxembourg, was a renowned physicist known for his contributions to photography and optics. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1908 for his method of reproducing colors photographically based on the phenomenon of interference. Lippmann was also a pioneer in the study of light phenomena and influenced the development of color photography. He passed away on July 13, 1921.
