Irène Joliot-Curie, born on September 12, 1897, in Paris, France, was a French chemist and Nobel laureate. She was the daughter of Pierre and Marie Curie, renowned for their work on radioactivity. In 1935, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry alongside her husband, Frédéric Joliot-Curie, for their synthesis of new radioactive elements. Irène Joliot-Curie was also a pioneer in scientific education and contributed to research on nuclear energy. She passed away on March 17, 1956.
