Jack S. Kilby, born on November 8, 1923, in Jefferson City, Missouri, was an American electrical engineer and inventor. He is best known for his role in the invention of the integrated circuit, a major technological advancement that revolutionized modern electronics. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2000. Kilby also worked for Texas Instruments, where he developed innovative electronic devices. He passed away on June 20, 2005.
