Kenneth G. Wilson, born on June 8, 1936, in Waltham, Massachusetts, was an American physicist renowned for his contributions to the understanding of critical phenomena associated with phase transitions. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1982 for his theory on these critical phenomena. Wilson was also an influential educator and contributed to the training of many physicists. He passed away on June 15, 2013.
