The delegation of the African Union concluded its mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after a series of diplomatic meetings aimed at easing the conflict in the eastern part of the country.
Comprising former presidents Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), Mokgweetsi Masisi (Botswana), Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia), and Catherine Samba-Panza (Central African Republic), the delegation had previously met with Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa.
Earlier in the week, it also held talks in Kigali with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, as well as with the armed group M23 in Goma, eastern DRC, in an effort to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis in the region.
