The Republic of Albania will sign the Artemis Accords during a ceremony scheduled for September 21, 2026, at noon EDT at NASA headquarters in Washington, becoming the 73rd country to join this international agreement.

The ceremony will be presided over by Matt Anderson, NASA Deputy Administrator, and will be attended by Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, Albanian Ambassador to the United States, Ervin Bushati, as well as representatives from the U.S. Department of State.

Established in 2020 under the Trump administration, the Artemis Accords aim to promote safety, transparency, and coordination in the civil exploration of the Moon, Mars, and beyond, responding to the growing interest of governments and private companies in lunar activities.

The ceremony is limited to in-person participants, with press attendance by invitation subject to registration before 10 a.m. EDT on September 21.
