Canadian poet Anne Carson has won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature, the jury announced on Thursday.
The jury praised a “bold and inventive body of work which, in playful dialogue with classical tradition, has given rise to new forms for contemporary literature.”
This distinction honors a writer whose work profoundly renews literary forms.
The previous year, the prize was awarded to Hungarian author László Krasznahorkai.
