Apple launched the Designers of Tomorrow 2026 exhibition on October 20, 2026, in Paris, focusing on the theme of presence and how objects influence physical environments and human experiences, according to Apple Newsroom.

The participants were selected by an international jury composed of influential design voices, including Alexandra Cunningham Cameron and Fabien Cappello, for their storytelling, material innovation, and craftsmanship. The event also highlights Apple’s role in the creative process by providing tools that facilitate design and idea sharing.

Among the featured creators, Egyptian-Danish architect Salem S. Charabi stands out with his project The Eminence of Light. He combines ancient traditional practices with modern digital tools, notably using a MacBook Pro for drawing and 3D modeling. His lantern, crafted with meticulously stacked date palm leaves and a limestone base, embodies this fusion of natural elements and fine engineering.

Charabi applies Japanese techniques on banana paper and details each component with precision, creating a suspended object that is both delicate and technical. This piece reflects designers’ ability to integrate tradition and innovation, supported by Apple technologies.
