Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, has declared a state of natural disaster across all its 50 districts following 48 hours of torrential rains that caused significant flooding.

The heavy rainfall, estimated at nearly 300 millimeters between Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning, submerged homes, businesses, and roads, making traffic difficult.

In response to this critical situation, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul cut short a trip to London to return to Bangkok and oversee crisis management, local authorities said.
