A Beninese international judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC), already sanctioned by the United States, warned on Wednesday in Paris about the threats facing the institution.

This statement comes after Donald Trump called at the United Nations podium this week for all member countries to withdraw from the ICC, which he described as “out of control.”

The ICC fears new American sanctions, while 13 of its members are already subject to punitive measures from Washington.

The Beninese judge was received at the French National Assembly during her visit to Paris.
