The social-democratic primary aimed at selecting the left-wing candidate for the 2027 presidential election is underway, with approximately 140,000 voters called to choose among five contenders: Raphaël Glucksmann, Olivier Faure, Ségolène Royal, Jérôme Guedj, and Emmanuel Maurel.

The voting began on Friday, but electronic voting was delayed from the outset due to a cyberattack, according to France 24. This disruption raises concerns about the conduct of the first round, with results expected Sunday at 6 p.m.

While the possibility remains that a candidate could be elected in the first round, the cyberattack may complicate the voting process and the counting of votes.
