The conflict in Ethiopia has worsened this week, with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) announcing a “total war” against federal forces, according to France 24.

The Tigrayan rebels have formed a coalition with six other armed groups across the country, all united in the goal of overthrowing Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government.

On Friday, another armed group claimed its membership in this alliance, thereby expanding the rebel coalition, which could further intensify fighting on multiple fronts.
