The Journalists for Human Rights (JDHO), based in Togo, has sent an open letter to the head of Niger’s transitional authorities demanding information on the whereabouts of Moussa Kaka, a journalist missing since August 31.

Moussa Kaka is known for covering Nigerien news for years, notably on RFI broadcasts. The Nigerien Minister of Justice has confirmed that he is alive and currently in detention.

The president of JDHO insists that Nigerien authorities specify the place of detention, the conditions under which Moussa Kaka is held, the reasons for his arrest, and that a judicial investigation be opened to shed full light on this case.
