Human Rights Watch (HRW) published a damning report on Monday, October 19, concerning the security situation in Mali. The human rights organization states that the Group to Support Islam and Muslims (Jnim) has confirmed carrying out summary executions of Malian soldiers in Tabrichat, in the Gao region. These executions followed an attack on a military convoy that departed from Anefis last July.

Furthermore, HRW also accuses the Malian army and the Russian Africa Corps of causing the deaths and injuries of several dozen civilians during recent military operations. These allegations highlight the violence endured by the civilian population amid the Malian conflict, underscoring the complexity and severity of the situation on the ground.
