The National Rally (RN) led by Marine Le Pen has succeeded in forming a parliamentary group in the French Senate for the first time in its history, according to France 24.
In the indirect senatorial elections held on Sunday, the RN and its allies secured 14 seats out of the 348 in the upper chamber. These elections, which concern half of the Senate, take place every three years, with senators serving six-year terms in a chamber dominated by the right.
This development marks a turning point for the RN, which until now had no organized group representation in the Senate, thereby enhancing its visibility and institutional influence.
