For several years, Belarusian nuns from the Sainte-Élisabeth Monastery in Minsk have been selling icons, matryoshka dolls, and honey in churches and cathedrals across France, presenting these sales as a way to finance their charitable works.

According to RFI, this monastery also openly supports the war led by Russia in Ukraine. It has participated in collections of supplies intended for Russian soldiers engaged in this conflict.
