Alzheimer’s disease, which primarily affects the elderly and is characterized notably by memory loss, impacts tens of millions of people worldwide.

According to Olivier de Ladoucette, psychiatrist and geriatrician, president of the Alzheimer Research Foundation, more than 220,000 Alzheimer’s cases are detected each year. Despite this high incidence, there is still no curative treatment for this neurodegenerative disease.

The specialist emphasizes, however, that the disease is not necessarily inevitable, offering hope through ongoing research.
