The Ministry of Education has urgently deployed 3,000 substitute teachers in an attempt to defuse the student protests, but blockades persist in several schools.

According to France 24, around 150 high schools remained closed on Friday, October 9, despite the Ministry’s assurances. The Ministry reported Friday morning that over 96% of high schools were open, with 141 schools closed out of 3,700, compared to 157 closures the previous day at midday.

The mobilized students continue to apply pressure, with another day of action planned for Tuesday, indicating that the situation remains tense despite the Ministry’s efforts.
