Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced on Thursday, October 8, the temporary suspension of the use of stun grenades launched by launcher during crowd control operations.

This decision follows the incident in which Evan, a 15-year-old high school student, had his hand amputated by a stun grenade projectile during the blockade of his school in Lens on Monday, October 6.

Despite this suspension, law enforcement officers may still use these grenades, but only when thrown by hand, no longer via a launcher.
