During qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto both advanced to the final phase, Q3, marking Alpine’s third double qualification of the season, according to official Formula 1 sources.

Gasly expressed satisfaction with Alpine’s progress, believing he could have extracted “even more” from the car if not for interruptions caused by yellow flags. He reached a provisional sixth place before finishing seventh, which gives him “good confidence” for the race and upcoming events.

The French driver highlighted the quality of the car’s setup, allowing him to feel comfortable with the balance and fully exploit the vehicle’s capabilities. Despite a probable superiority from Ferrari, Gasly feels “better balanced” in Baku than before and hopes to secure valuable points.

Meanwhile, Franco Colapinto managed to reach Q3 but experienced a more challenging session, with a wheel lock-up at turn 15 and significant vibrations, forcing him to settle for 10th place. He acknowledged a lack of speed and comfort in braking zones but remains determined to improve and fight during the race.
