Brazilian Parliament has approved a constitutional reform aimed at reducing the weekly working hours from 44 to 40.

This measure, promised by left-wing President Lula, who is running for re-election, will allow many Brazilians to benefit from two days of rest per week instead of the current one.

Adopted in the midst of the presidential election runoff campaign, this reform comes as Lula attempts to close the gap with Senator Flavio Bolsonaro ahead of the second round scheduled for October 25.
